Bank Genie was developed by George Kelly.
George (thats me) has almost 30 years software development experience.
In June 09, I left my day job to concentrate fully on my own software development and
sales business.
Don’t be deceived by the name I came up with for my business (launched in 2001).
In my career (most recently as Systems Analyst/Programmer at Belfast Telegraph Newspapers, N. Ireland) I have developed software for:
- Finance - Payroll software, Bonus software, Overtime software
- Accounts
- Wages
- Sickness software
- Advertising - many solutions including Revenue analysis
- Marketing
- Circulation
- Paypoint software
- Sports - Results, League tables - output to publishing
I can still read the local sports results in the Tele, produced by my Sports System, one of my favourite projects.

- Time and Attendance
- Job Recording (and MRP)
- Finished goods recording
Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed the wide range of projects completed at the Tele. Its very satisfying to know that my software continues to
function admirably and contributes to the success of that company.
I now work mainly on my own software:
- Bank Genie (Software for Money management)
- Ideas Genie (Gardening software for amateurs and professionals))
- Flower Genie (Software for amateur gardeners)
In addition, I do contract work for Belfast Telegraph Newspapers.
I am available for other consultancy or contract work.
My speciality is in Business Analysis software.
e.g. in Belfast Telegraph, I developed software to analyse millions of advertising records.
My technique was to allow users to start with an overview of grouped
data and to expand and drill down in a miriad of stages to get right down to single ad information - in seconds.
Before that software career?
Well, I was a team leader at De Lorean Motor Cars and built the
very first De Lorean.
That was in my good old Engineering days. Now, sadly, that really is history.
When I look back, is it back to the future?
